An example is published in the “Andy Warhol Vetrine” Catalog edited by Achille Bonito Oliva, Silvana Editoriale, 2014, p. 236. During the seventies the oil crisis and the liberalization of the international exchange market hit the Lira heavily, which lost more than half of its value.

This is how the Italian government found itself in the need to issue new pieces of 50,000 and 100,000 Lire. The new version of the card depicts one of the Graces taken from the famous painting of Spring by Sandro Botticelli. The reverse shows architectural elements. The first issue is from 1978; the last one in 1982.
